Dealing with Collosi

In a game where the Zerg player is trying to avoid the spire tech tree what are some effective methods of dealing with Collosi?

I want to play a ground-based zerg with nydus or drops for ***** but struggle against Protoss death balls with a lot of Collosi. Neural parasite infestors is an obvious option but are there any tricks for keeping them alive from the rest of the death ball when going in for the neural?

I would have NO idea... without a Spire I would think it would be very difficult.
